Hey HH what are your thoughts on this thing? remtek.com/arms/fn/57/Guy here bought one but has it stateside. Supposedly they will defeat up to level 3 body armor which is just sick out of the box. Just sorta curious how Law Enforcement feels about crap like that.

This is AK in pocket version with low recoil. I'd use that for bear hunting.

Yeah... AK is a little bigger bullet though and has a little more stopping power. I am not to sure about the physics of this bullet but I would imagine the 7.62 makes a bigger permanent cavity.

X . my suggestion to you that if you " REALLY " want to feel protected, than buy yourself a SAW or a tommy gun! Trust bro, when you whip out a pistol, whats the point, the other guy has a pistol too, everybody has postiols... Just buy yourself a SAW and when a guy comes out and points that pistol at you, you whip out your SAW just like in Far Cry and show him up!

My Kimber was just short $1,000, with my LE discount.
Concerning the FN 57...
It will may go through body armor if you fire the SS190 round, depends on the armor. It will not penetrate if you fire hollow point SS192 rounds.
These are the same rounds fire by FN P90, which is in FC and JOE. While they may be able to perforate soft body armor, the 5.7 x 28mm will cause less stopping wounds than a 9 mm FMJ fired from a pistol. The 5.7 x 28 mm velocity, penetration, and tissue destruction is like a .17 Hornet--far less than we see with plain old army ammo out of my M4. Winchester 230 gr JHP’s fired from my Kimber would crush more tissue and penetrate further than the 5.7 x 28 mm, resulting in a far more lethal wound.
The pistol costs about $780, but you can get them cheaper now, because dealers are unloading them as they have a habit of blowing up in your hand. Several people have been injuried.
If you want stopping power, buy a gun with a true track record of performance...a .45 cal. You can pick up a base model Colt or similiar one for $500, or, if you are daddy money bags, you can get a fully custom job for $3,000.

I would not steer your wrong Bro. Everyone wants "New" and "High Tech" stuf, and they overlook the old steady reliable tools that still do the job better.
The 1911 .45 was invented in the early 1900's by John Browning (note 1911 marks the year of issue). These .45s have been service in the military every since. The military then decided to change to the 9mm, which we use today., However, all the Special Ops guys still use .45 Cal, a large amount of cops use the .45, and the Army is once again reviewing whether or not to go back to the .45. Nothing says stopping power like that big old round smacking you in the chest. The gun took all sorts of abuse and still did the job. For my money, go with something that works, rather than something that is new. Trust true experience over the hype.

Kimber's are sorta on the high-end of guns, not as high end as you can go, like Ed Brown's, but you will pay a little than a stock gun. I have seen gunshops advertise the Kimber TLE II, which I highly recommend, for around $766.00, which is a great price. I paid over $1,000 for mine, but I had them do some extra things on my gun (titanium Hi-Pro parts, modified trigger pull, different sites, different grips, ect). Have you ever seen the movie Cobra? Stallone had two guns with custom scrimshaw designs on the handles. I want to make a pair that has Hammerhead sharks on both sides, just for looks. Kimber's are worth every penny if you want a great gun that will shoot like great gun right out of the box, and it will last a life time. If you wanted to go cheaper, and sacrifice a few of the bells and whistle, but still get a rock steady, dependable shooter, that will also last a lifetime, you can go with Springfield Armory's base model for right around $500. Wow, your Kimber sounds sweet HH, you have a pic of it handy we could all check out? I'd like to see that grip you're talkn about.
Oh, and are the P90's really as accurate as they appear to be in FC? They don't seem to have any recoil whatsoever in that game - just curious if you know anything 'bout that.

man just buy any gun, doesnt ahve to look nice... besides, you still gonna have blood all over it when it all goes down. So style and crap dont matter. You buy a gun, you gonna have blood on it. just my 2 cents.

Technically speaking, guns don't tend to get too much blood on them, unless you are doing some extreme CQB, or it is your own. They do get all sorts of fouled up by spent propellant residue. ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR GUNS! I have not yet found anyone who can do the custom HH grips from my Kimber, well, at least that I can afford, but I am still looking. I will post a picture of my babies as soon as I can get one scanned as I have a few for insurance purposes. Here is a picture of Sly Stallone from Cobra, in his waistband is a pistol that has the handles on it, although it is a bad representation of the work. By the way, in the movie, you can see the pistol is a 9mm conversion, as it clearly says so on the slide, but in the scene where he is cleaning his weapons, he has .45 Glaser Ammo displayed. Movie blunder! Also, look at that huge ass laser! What a relic! - HH - HH
