I havnt even opened it yet. I will in a second and call my buddy and go down to the warehouse if he can go that is

Wow great news guys!!!!!

I call him. Its 3 pm right now he will go to work untill like 7 pm pacific time. When he will go home, I will go to his house and we will go to warehouse together and pick up a:

1. Case
2. 10 gb HD
3. Moniter
4. Vedio Card
5. Keyboard and Mouse
6. More ram

I have been saving all that money for this day. So you ~*DS*~ should have a kick ass server built by tommorow.

Anyways after we bring all the stuff to his house, I we will install everyting reformat the HD. Than we will head to the warehouse and place it there and ready to enjoy our T 3 server 1.2 thanks to everyones help

So I cant wait! He also recommend I use his old case because he said that if some people will find out its a 1.2 they will jack the computer if the owner havnt put a lock on the door yet. So thats why we will be putting the 1.2 into his old case server that has been running for about 2 months now. Wish us luck! ;D

Ok we went over this i think on AIM but just makeing sure again. 1 fan will do the job for cooling it 24/7 right? I just dont want to risk it on a good AMD system. I might have to buy an extra one depends what they have in the warehouse.

I'd recomend you getting a slot fan for 4 or 5 dollars. its silent and just goes in an exspanion bay. AMD's run hot!

yeah the more fans the better....you don't wanna take the chance of it frying....i've had a few fry on me and you'll be lucky if you can save the mobo.

Honestly i wouldnt worry about it, Amds run hot, but thats how they are made =) They have more cycles per second than the pentiums

Anyway, having a slot fan is a great idea specially for a 24 7 server. If anything it will keep the air circulating.

Believe me, that fan thats on there cost me like 50 bucks. Its ball bearing and is around 7200rpm i believe. So it should be good for a while, the only thing you may need to change is the transfer jell, that is a deffnite check. IF the transfer jell goes, the processor will shortly if the jell is not replaced.

I am sorry to report in with some bad news

WolfsRain when you sent me the proccesor and motherboard did you have the proccesor attaced to the motherboard?

Guess what. When I opened the box, I noticed the proccesor was loose from the motherboard and moving around. I didnt really look closly into it because I was to damn excited and was looking forward on puting that fucking killer system as our server! I was to damn highper! Anways I picked up my friend, got to the warehouse. We started to install the killer motherbord and proccesor on the Case and other parts that i bought for us. Ok it came time to put on the proccesor and attach it to the motherbord. I couldnt, I noticed the clip was broken off or half way gone! There was no fucking way on attaching the proccesor. Quickly me and my friend got an idea. We deicided to try to Iron a plastic hook thing from a different motherboard that we broke off as to use as a part. Didnt work. The proccesor needs to be tigten very tight and so when we put it on, it broke off so ironing was pointless.

We figured out that "Express" shiping did a horrible job because not only was the box all scracted up by the proccesor but also my friend found a chip called the "receptor" or some shit like that. He said its from the motherboard!

2 months ago same exacte spot happened to hist mothberbord. The hook broke off and the heatsink separated from the proccesor and the proccesor was gone. And guess what? Both motherboards his and WolfsRain that he sent me are "IWILL" board! We learned a great leason today. NEVER BUY DAMN "IWILL" BOARDS!!! THEY ARE GOOD BROADS BUT THE DAMN HOOKS SUCK ON THEM!!!

My friend was nice enough to take shots of the motherboard how I got it. Really next time you guys send some, remember TAKE OFF THE PROCCESOR IN ANOTHER SPOT AND MAKE SURE YOU USE "FEDEX"

Picture 1. First off all when I opened the box, and was ready to install the proccesor, I learned that the "HeatSink Clipper/Holder" is fliped the wrong way. (The chrome thing in the meddle)

Heres the shit that really got me. Look at the fucking cardboard. You can see how the proccesor was moving around in the box back and forth. I mean what the hell they were doing to that damn poor box? Throwing it around? Geez!!! By the way its the top side of the box, i should of took a bigger picture of the box so you have an idea were its at. But I wanted you to see the damn details!

Ok look at this. See how it choped off the meddle? See how the meddle hook is broken? Really sucks! I guess the box was moving back and forth back and forth and since the AMD proccsor was on the motherboard and it has to be tight, it basically riped that hook off or shaved it off! We tryed like i said ironing another hook from a differnt mothboard but the Heatsink must be on tight so theres no way of ironing it!

There is hope: I can spend 30 dollars and by that meddle chrome peice that attaches the proccesor to the motherboard. I can buy a different type so it will use 1 hook thats in the meddle which is gone and the two of the sides which are still there thank god. But once again, that "recptor" is off the mothboard so i am still having my fingers cross about it. Hopfully it still works.



Over all I think we can keep on trying. I will try to buy a new chorme thing to support the amd heatsink to the proccsor. But my friend thinks the motherboard is most likely dead because same thing happend to his "IWILL" board. But I still will give it another shot.

If not, I am planing on buying a new motherboard. Fuck it if it this one doesnt work, i will make sure to buy asus or some shit when i get my pay check sometime. But tests will be done before I will confirm on buying a new board. I will make sure this one is broken which i hope is not.

Update on T3..................................................................

The good old T3. Heres what I did. Since we are working on the 1.2 mothboard right now, I took the RaM and put it on the 450 machine. So At least the good thing is that we will have our T3 server up tommorow night FOR SURE! I am tierd of this bullshit! I am annoyed already I just want to spend another fucking day and get the damn T3 up. So 450 T3 is better than notting for now right?

Check this out guys. look at "picture 3" very carefully. You will noticed that the hook in the meddel is gone but there is still 2 hooks on each sides! So since you cant buy that little chrome thing that goes on those hooks to keep the heatsink attached to the proccesor, only way we can get another chrome meddel thing that goes and uses the two hooks is to buy a new heatsink.

A new heatsink cost around 40 dollars. I thought about this today. I was about to run down to the store and pick one up. But than, my friend told me to buy a K7. So If WolfsRain comfirms that this is a good motherboard for this AMD proccsor and everything will work, than we are in luck. My friend says it will and should work, since its made for AMDs. I rather buy a new motherboard and know it will work for sure inside of wasting the money on a heatsink. The motherboard that WolfsRain sent me has about 35% chance that it works. But you never know it still might.

So let me know WolfsRain since I dont know what kind of AMD proccesor you sent me XP or not. Seems like its XP 700.

if it is an athlon 1.2 then it is a thunderbird (not xp). It should work with that board no probs...btw the way what is the price on the mobo?
and if a chip came off the other mobo there is no way in hell it is gonna work...the HSF (heatsink fan) looks like it is pure copper and with that fan (60mm looks like) it should be great for dissapating the heat from the athlon.
btw do you think it will be ready for practice tonite?
