Ok children, gather round and let Optic talk...class is in session:
1) THERE ARE NO CHEATS FOR IGI2! (yet) Though, no doubt if anyone actually played IGI2 enough (the most players I have ever seen worldwide online at once was about 250 people) to warrant making hacks, then someone might try and be successful, but GOOD LUCK since:
2) IGI2 is a Direct3D rendered game. For those of you who play Counterstrike and don't know a damn thing about 3d graphics, CS is rendered in OpenGL.
3) Most of the classic and now infamous CS hacks (OGC and HLH) were based on hacking OpenGL code, which has been publicly available since it came out back in the early 1990s.
4) Wallhacks only need to change the opacity (how transparent an object is) of brushes (geometrical shapes that form a Quake/Quake2/Half-Life based map) so that they can be seen through.
5) Aimbots in turn, are based on visual cues from OpenGL rendering. For example, it might texture an enemy player model to a shade of red or blue with yellow target points for the head and chest, and then match the aiming cursor to coincide with the pixel coordinate of the correct color. Lehman's terms, it aims at the yellow spot on the head whenever you push a binded key.
6) So far as anyone has tried, these things cannot be accomplished in Direct3D, since it costs money to pay for licenses from Microsoft to have access to DirectX/Direct3D code, and it is much better encrypted.
7) Since most current games are rendered in Direct3D and NOT OpenGL, most current FPS games cannot be hacked like Half-Life can.
Ok, that all being said, I am sorry to ruin the excuses of many of the children who play IGI2 as to why they suck and die all time.
The reason why they accuse people of cheating is to get everyone on their side and throwing accusations at players so they will leave the server and so that they are discredited in general.
Now I, personally, have heard from some idiot players in public servers that I cheat and that I have a reputation in some mysterious public forum somewhere.
This is good for me I think, since once people learn what I have typed above, they will realize that these disgruntled kids are full of BS, and that all there crap just proves the people they are accusing are far better than they are, and that they know absolutely nothing about computer games and how hacks are made. All they know is that their friend down the street gave them some hack for CS found online on some website, and then OF COURSE (lol) those types of things MUST (lol) be available for EVERY (lol) game. What a bunch of morons, eh?
Anyway kids, for those of you accusing me or any other DS of cheating...
THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS! Keep up the good work!
Ok, class dismissed. ;D
