So my dad is a hard head. He doesn't by something better or upgrade things until the old one breaks. With that said, we have a 4 port router in the house currently with 3 computers hooked up to it. Is there an adaptor I can buy to plug in that 4th port to make it a hotspot for my gaming systems? Because once I get a 360, I will need to go online to play with you. The router is in the basement and I don't feel like running a wire though 2 floors.
If there isn't. Do they make spliters I could use from the wall jack that goes to both routers?

firstly, yes i believe there are wireless adapters for non-wireless routers, also there are carriers and bouncers that you can use to carry ur signal via a hardwire, which will then relay the rest of the way via wireless. But if u ask me wireless is a dodgey thing when it coems to xboxes, it really depends on how far you have to travel wirelessly, Inferno's gal has a computer liek 10 feet from his xbox, she gets a great signal, but his xbox is funky when it comes to the signal it gets, from what I hear their wireless adpaters arent as great as PC counterparts.

wireless is ok if the router is on the same floor as the xbox. If its on a different floor it will be spoty. I used to have my wireless upstairs and the xbox360 downstairs. It would disconnect during the middle of games and just be crappy. So i took a drill and put a hole right through the floor and ran a cat 5 cable downstairs. No problem now.
If you already have an ethernet jack in your room just get a $30 hub and put it into your room. That way you can split off of it in your room.

Hell with that! Get 50' of cable and run it out a window, down the side of the house and in through another window! It says "I'm white trash and proud of it"!
