Well, i just got the Razer gaming mouse a couple days ago because my previous mouse had broken. I installed it and the computer in the copperhead program for the mouse could not detect the mouse. So every now and then the mouse would just totally freeze up untill i clicked all the buttons on the mouse a bunch of times. but now the mouse just doesnt ever move in general. I had to set up one of my spare computers to get online. Because i would maybe be able to sign on aim, but then it would just freeze up again. I tried hooking up my other mouse to it but it would just remain frozen. (besides, this mouse is a shitty wireless mouse and is wayyyyyy too slow to game with.) I know the USB ports are working, because my keyboard and joystick still work, and even when i plug and unplug the razer it makes the 'ding-ding' noise that occurs when you plug or unplug something from the usb port.
anybody have any clues what it could be? i would really like to be able to game again.

i would say try not to use the usb and use the adapter that converts it from usb to just a regular mouse plugin

Although the mouse is not my area of expertise, and I don't own this mouse, I do know a little about it. So....
1. Do you have the latest drivers/firmware for it? I believe the latest driver version is 6.09, firmware Version 6.17. Updating or reinstalling/updating my correct the problem.
2. Many gamers are reporting having a problem with Windows XP accelerating the mouse and causing conflicts, like jerking, not being recognized on boot up, or just siezing into a worthless pile of plastic. Do a google search for the file accelfix.exe and download it. This program should stop XP from accelerating your mouse and it should fix your problem. If not, run it again and it will restore your defaults. Make sure you back up your files first and go over the readme file.
3. What do you have your DPI set at? The best compromise for gaming on our level would be to set the DPI around 800, maybe go as high as 1000 on F*E*A*R or another game that you are running to its full potention, but any higher, you risk causing problems and less than state of the art systems.
4. If none of the above work, I suggest going direct with the manufacturer. Call their service support hotline and see if they can help you.

hehe this puppy can go 1600 DPI, but yea it depends on how well ur system can handle it, i belive u can turn it down in the diagnostics program, like i said when i first installed mine, the sensitivity was set so high i kept losing my mouse.

That amount of feedback from the mouse can make weaker systems crumble to their knees.
