Sorry, I neglected this post for too long.
1. I know you are in good shape Surge, but when the shit hits the fan, the first thing that body resorts to is muscle memory, learned in repeated training.
2. I think I may react just a bit quicker than you would because my body has been trained to react for almost 20 years. I don't have to think about how to bring up my M-4 or M-11, how to engage targets, or how to get to cover. I just do it.
3. Also, my experience will give me an edge too. I know from experience how never to peek out from the same place twice, how to exit a Hummer, upright or otherwise in a hurry, and how to prone out properly when I hear in-coming. I know how to shoot, move and communicate in 40 lbs of body armor because I practice it over and over again. You have never been in that situation, so at the very least, you will hesitate. Even a brief second of hesitation may cost you your life, while a quick jump may save mine.
4. Who in there right mind would give anyone a weapon without qualifying for it? It is never done in the military. If you do not know how to zero and sight you weapon, you are going to have a weapon that may not shoot where you aim it. A well trained soldier never goes into battle with a weapon that has not be zeroed.
5. Lastly, no matter how well you are trained and prepared, you still can find yourself in a no-win situation. A mortar or rocket round coming out of the blue or a lucky sniper when you least expect can end anyone's tour. Some of it comes down to pure luck.
Again, this is not meant to be derogatory in any manner to you Surge. I am merely stating proven facts. Discounting luck, those who train and have experience will always be more efficient in combat, and have a higher chance of survival, than those who just show up.

There is no such thing as a lucky sniper, just an unlucky corpse ^_^

Hmmm? I've met a few unlucky snipers, who decided to never look over their soldier until my knife ended their life.

Is anyone going to try Medal of Honor: Airborne for 360? Word is that it is supposed to be pretty good in both the SP and MP areas.
