Sounds like a good PC, except Im not a fan of ATI. I always go nvidia. Im sure you have notived the nvidia logo when loading the BF2 demo, so that also means you'll get better performance with nvidia for BF2. Does your mobo offer SLI? it isn't too incredibly important now, but in the near future it'll be really handy. SLI allows you to run 2 videocards to process your graphics instead of 1. Imagine that! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Other then that I would only suggest uppin to 2 gigs of ram.

Sorry I failed to mention that SLI only works with PCI-Express Cards. (PCI-E x 16)
For ultimate performance I suggest a SLI capable Motherboard.

im not 100 percent sure, but i think my motherboard offers all that you are talking about.
I'll have to double check.
In the mean time, i will upgrade my ram...while i'm working on a car payment, house payment, engagement ring...and beer.
thanks man.

Did some research for you on your mobo. If Im correct it is AGP 8x capable. Therefor it does not have SLI capabilities. or PCI-E x 16.
That being said I wouldn't suggest you upgrade your motherboard unless you want to build a whole new system, and when you do build a new system I would suggest going with a mobo that is SLI Capable. (meaning 2 x PCI-E) Upgrading your mobo would mean getting a new videocard as well. PCI-E runs at twice the speed of AGP 8x. Having two videocards running at the same time in 16x means 4 times the speed of the 8x you are running at now. This is an obvious advantage. For today's games you don't need that power, but I'll wager that by this time next year a lot of players will be running their sytems in SLI. I hopefully will have SLI running by august.

Alright, Help a noob out. Here's the computer i put together (first time, i know nothing) let me know what to change, upgrade, or throw out the window. asus p4c800 delux motherboard 1 gig Kingston DDR P4 3.2 ghz processor ATI 9800 pro Any suggestions? If your not going to do a whole new machine I suggest you get one more gig of ram, equal to what you have, and a Nvidia 6800gt. Sometimes people don't think allot about displays, it's always nice to have a decent montior with good specs. I've got a dell flat panel 2001fp 20inch. The specs on this flat panel are good for gaming, not may flat panels can hit the specs this one does. The price has come way down too! accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-1578&category_id=4009or ck this out, I think I may need to upgrade to this! accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-4221&link_number=A note on SLI. Sweet as hell but very expensive. Two video cards, damn. Don't forget the power requirements. The average joe doesn't realize he is going to need to upgade his power supply. I have the latest 550 powersupply, will it handle SLI? I wish i could trow my 5900 ultra into a SLI motherboard and then just buy another 6800oc. That would be SWEET!

I wonder if my MOBO can handle SLI. It is an Intel 915PBLL and I have a PCI-Express 6800GT 256mb in there now.
