I hope you guys will do the same... Down with EA!!
I added my complaint as well to the EA forums... We're not the only ones... there are more people saying they won't buy another EA game than there are people saying that they will play the game...

I will still support EA because even though they do some things that are not liked, they still put out quality products and are still the #1 thrid party gaming company out there. You can't beat there EA Sports games. EA is out to make money, you can't blame then for that. The advertising, though unliked, is a way for them to make more money. I was in Best Buy today and they had a sign/warning up by the game explaining the adveristing software. I asked the guy that works there and he said, that EA announced this over 3 weeks ago to retailers, alot of retailers choose not to put up the signs however until the games release.

The last thing EA needs is more money, their net income from this year alone is $236.00 million and rising... and while they might put out pretty quality products such as BF2 (which was still essentially a beta for a year), their customer support is HORRIBLE. If they're throwing loads of ads into BF2142 that do nothing but detract from the atmosphere and we're still paying full price for the game, they had better be putting out a patch a week with new maps and other content every month. We are paying them a subscription fee by viewing the ads they put in the game, which results in them earning advertising revenue. If their support of the game does not reflect the money they're continually receiving from it, then their placement of ads and monitoring software in the game is absolutely unacceptable.

lol u cant beat EA sports games cause they have a monopoly on the major leagues LMAO!!! Completely false. The only sport they have an exclusive to is any NFL games (Madden). 2KSports has the exclusive for Major League Baseball (EA can not make a MLB game). They both make a basketball games.

You are expecting to much here man. First off, just because they made $236 million last year, doesn't mean they should stop finding new ways to make more money. I mean why should they? They are a business, they are in this to make a product to sell and make a profit. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BUY THERE PRODUCT! The ads, in BF2142, yes they may force you to do that but as I said in a previous post, retailers knew about this weeks ago and companies like Best Buy have posted a warning sign near the game in there stores. So if you choose not to read the sign, that's your own damn fault, not EA. And you can't blame EA for this. This is great for EA. It's getting other companies involved to sponcer production of EA made games so EA can possibilly spend more time devolping a game before it comes out. You all just see this form the customers point of view. Try looking at this from EA's POV. Then maybe you will understand what makes there company so great, even if some of the things they do are disliked by the customer that buys there products.

I honestly think they did this little advertising stunt just to see how well it goes. If enough people refuse to buy BF2142 because of it, then they might hold off from doing it in the future. In otherwards there leveraging their fan base from BF2 to see how the reactions go. So far I haven't seen any consumers chearing EA's attempts.

Sypher, EA can go fuck itself. I don't care if it's just a company trying to make money. A company needs to satisfy its customers, and I'm not satisfied with their shitty support and shady practices. It's sickening to see how companies like EA are throwing morals out the window and placing the consumer low on their list of priorities.
And I can't blame EA for their decision to include advertisements and near-spyware in their game? WTF are you smoking? It's not like they were forced to do it, like I said, they are definitely not strapped for cash. Until they somehow repay BF2142 players for the ads they're forced to view whenever they play the game, I see NO justification behind the addition of in-game advertisement, other than EA being a bunch of greedy pricks. Don't throw your "EA's POV" crap at me.
By the way, I love how much you praise EA for being a "great company." Maybe you should go work for them, how does 80 hours a week and unpaid overtime sound?

yea sorry to say EA is crap, they destroyed great companies, monopolized the sports games to hell, and as we can plainly see in BF-2, completely ignored their players needs much less shitty bugs that everyone is aware of after claiming to attempt to fix it after 4 months of waiting... sadly ill be playing their games cause it seems they have a good grip on the FPS communitiy as well for the time being

If a company tried to satisfy every single customer they would go out of business. The avdertising thing actually isn't as bad as I thought. Talking to a couple of my customer that have bought the game say it doesn't bother them. Where some, like on here, it does. And there you go back to the cash thing again. You expect because a company makes a bundle of money that they should focus on other areas to improve there product while cutting there profit. No company in there right mind would do something like that. I know I wouldn't if I owned a company. It's bad business. And shady practices? I have seen nothing to support this yet but most companies do things close to shandy. Take my company for example. With marketing signs advertising trade deals saying in big print, "Trade 3 games get an extra $10". People are to fucking stupid to read the fine print on the sign that says, "Does not apply towards cash, 2006 sports titles, wrestling titles and demos do not apply." Some people call that false advertising but it's not because it was clearly on written on the sign. As for working for EA. I have looked into it in the past but have never applied. And the 80 hours a week with no OT pay. All I can say to that is welcome to a salary employee. I know alot of Wal-Mart store and assisstant managers that put in well over 80 a week and only get paid for 48 because they are salary. OT pay does not apply to salary paid employees.

I laughed, I cried, it was BU-TEE-FULL! But really, talk all you want, but what game has ever come out that we have not bitched about, that cheaters did not find a way to hack and ultimately, it died? Uh...none! Play, enjoy and don't get a menstrual cramp over the small stuff!

I think the thing to remember is that there is no "miracle" game that is going to be perfect for everyone. Every game will have flaws and we can all find something to complain about. Rather, I believe we should find a couple we can live with and just have fun. Isn't that what is all about instead of quibbling about this hack, or that exploit, or how much money they are making?
