That is way too funny! Damn rookies! You couldn't get away with that crap in the military for real. Oh yeah! Check this out. I played a game where I had only 5 kills and 2 deaths, but I ferried about a hundred soldiers back and forth in helos and hummers. I ended up with like almost 300 points! Some points were bonus for kills by my gunners, but most were points for safely getting soldiers from point to point.

Iv'e seen that glitch allot. There are a ton of em, I really haven't seen any that you can exploit thou, other than getting under floors of huts n stuff then kinda sticking your head out so you can see. Whats really pissing me off right now is that your shots look like decals and when you hit someone it's like the same decal as if you hit the ground, there is almost no depth perception of where the shot lands it just seems like your hitting a peice of clear plexi glass with the background behind it. I can completly spray a guy with an ak and watch all the shots land on his body mass but still he doesn't die. The visual perspective is really poor, someone can get up on you and you don't even know their there, allot like IGI. I wanna see blood when I shoot and I don't want no lame ass decal to show me where my shot landed. Hey, does datrif work for a pmc as a merc or...?

Yeah, there are some issues with graphics in J.O.; however, I think it is compromise between playability and visuals. This is just my opinion, but all the great visually attractive games such as Far Cry and IGI2, had major other bugs. I know J.O. tuned down their graphics just a bit to allow the largest group of computer users to be able to play the game, with minimum problems. Games like Far Cry use a lot of the processor speed to run graphics and they all seem to have far more problems then J.O. does. So, in my world, playability ranks a little higher than visuals. Maybe one day we can live in a world that has both.

You hit the nail on the head when it comes to stuff like foliage, draw distance and player phycis. I thought IGI had a better method of what I described in my prior post.
As far as next gen games, well their still tweakn with games like farcry, they actual did a version that uses shader model 3.0 support which currenty there is only one card than can support it, thats a 6800 or better from Nvidia, and as you know farcry was released allot earlier than that card. FarCry is a case of when software actually surpasses hardware. Heck I got a pretty good system and I still can't play the game they way I want to play it. I literally have to wait till the next gen vid cards come out and are a little easier to get than online with a 20perc markup. I used to buy hardware online but being able to walk into a store and pick something up off the shelf is 10x better, not to mention you can just return to the store if you have a prob.
J.O.s fx are good in some respects but in allot of ways they nerfed em to do just as you said, be playable on the widest array of hardware and net speeds. It's far from a solid game but it's still pretty damn fun.

Yeah, no doubt that Farcry is a much better game visually; however, there are lag problems with everyone a few minutes after a game starts, which is really annoying. I don't find much lag in JO, except if you get over 100 people, then you can have some problems. When I upgrade to a new graphics card, I will try Farcry again. Hopefully with the new card and any updates, the game will be more playable.

Surge and I caught a game, he entered after I had been playing for a while. I was tired as heck. I get up at 4:30am to get to work by 6am. I'm off at 4pm but I usually have something to do so I have to stay. It takes me about an hour to get home. I work outside in AZ heat, under the hoods of cars that have been driving around town, so, by the time I get home I'm pretty beat. I got to get to bed by ten or I'll have a ruff time getting up. Kinda sucks scince everyone seems to play late. O'well. BTW, whats your sys specs HH, have you tried the farcry 1.2 patch. I haven't but toms hardware as a huge article on it. graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040705/index.htmlI'm going to wait till I get my sys up to par before playn the rest of this beauty.
